Deadline for arts grants scheme approaches

THE Arts Office of Clare County Council is inviting applications under its Arts Grants Scheme for events and activities taking place in 2012.

The scheme is designed to assist artists and arts organisations based in the county and will cover all art forms including visual art, music, theatre and dance.
“This grants scheme is in high demand every year, as local artists and organisations depend on the scheme to put on many of the arts activities that take place throughout the county. Almost 70 grants were awarded last year. Although the sums involved are small in many cases, they enable the activities to take place,” Siobhán Mulcahy, Clare county arts officer said.
Application forms for the grants are available from the Arts Office, County Library, Mill Road, Ennis, Co Clare, by telephoning 065 6899091, emailing arts@clarelibrary.ie or alternatively they can be downloaded from www.clarelibrary.ie/arts.htm or through www.clarecoco.ie.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is Friday, February 24.
