Inch Crusaders  2   Kilmaley United  1

INCH Crusaders had a good victory over local rivals Kilmaley at Lees Road on Sunday.

Kilmaley had the better of the early exchanges and went in front on 20 minutes with a good headed finish from Sean O’Loughlin. Inch got back into it on 30 minutes when Sean Hehir finished well from inside the box after the ball broke following good pressure by Declan McNaboe on the Kilmaley defence. It was still 1-1 at half-time.
Inch had the breeze at their backs in the second half and played some lovely football throughout. John Clohessy put Inch in front on 55 minutes with a well-struck effort to the right corner after getting on the end of a through ball from Conor Neylon.
Mikey Pyne and Thomas O’Doherty were dominant at the back for Inch and as the half wore on, it was the winners who created the best chances. Clohessy went close again for Inch on 70 minutes with a shot that narrowly missed the target, while Mark Connellan had an effort well saved by Ger Healy in the Kilmaley goal on 75 minutes. Padraig Talty was denied by a last-ditch tackle on 80 minutes and in the final minute Neylon went close again for Inch with a long-range effort.
The final whistle sounded shortly after this as Inch took all three points and a deserved victory.
