CLARE County Council’s unaudited annual financial statement for 2011 shows the local authority ended the year with a deficit of only €47,000, despite a reduction in Government funding of more than €9 million. Total Government funding received by Clare County Council during 2011 was €66.8 million, compared to €78.2m in 2010.
