Broadford  0-11  Tubber  0-10

Broadford maintained their great start to the Clare Champion Cup with this hard-fought one-point win over Tubber on Saturday.

There was little between the sides throughout and both had chances to score points at vital times. Tubber had a couple of chances to level in the closing stages but attempts from frees just tailed to the wrong side of the goalpost.
Tubber opened a four-point advantage in the opening half when they played with the aid of the wind but the home side had drawn level by half-time, with the score 0-5 each.
Broadford edged in front early in the second half and held the lead to the finish. They finished the game with 14 men after Niall Moloney was sent off on a second yellow card.

Corofin led from the outset in this tie played at the Éire Óg grounds on Saturday. By half-time they had opened a six-point gap and went on to maintain that margin in the second period.
A strong performance from the half-back line of Dara Clancy, Gerry Quinn and Dara Shannon laid the foundations for this victory on a day when full-forward Kevin Heagney scored both of his side’s goals.
U-21 star Tom Downes scored the Ennis side’s goal but it wasn’t enough to stop Corofin from winning this one.
Corofin: Kevin Raftery; Patrick Ryan, Luke O’Loughlin, Martin Tierney; Dara Clancy, Gerry Quinn, Dara Shannon; Neil Killeen, Ollie O’Loughlin; Stephen Heagney, Donnacda Kelleher, Eamonn Malone; Declan Lee, Kevin Heagney, Eamonn Dunne.

Scariff  1-14   Wolfe Tones  2-11
A last-minute goal from Daithi O’Connell earned Wolfe Tones a share of the spoils with Scariff in this cup tie played at the East Clare club’s venue on Saturday.
Scariff led by six points at half-time when the score was 1-9 to 0-6 with the goal coming from Ross Horan.
Early in the second half Wolfe Tones had a goal from a Bobby McPhillips free which helped them to get back into contention.
Scariff had opened a three-point lead with time almost up and they looked like recording their second win on the trot until O’Connell struck for the Shannon outfit’s second goal.

Ballyea  2-5   O’Callaghan’s Mills  0-11
Ballyea and O’Callaghan’s Mills shared the spoils in this competitive tie played at Ballyea in greasy conditions on Saturday evening last. The visitors had the better of exchanges in the first half and led at the interval by 0-5 to 0-2.
Two goals from Tony Griffin fired Ballyea back into the game in the second half and the home side should have built from these scores but some sloppy defensive play let the east Clare side back into the game to earn a share of the points.
Griffin’s first goal came at the start of the second half and he had his second at the turn of the final quarter. He scored all of Ballyea’s scores and looked dangerous any time he gained possession. Also prominent for Ballyea were Niall Keane, Francie O’Reilly, Brian Carrigg and Brian Murphy.
