Body of Adrian Folan identified

The body discovered in a quarry near the Cliffs of Moher on Monday has been formally identified as 41-year-old Adrian Folan, missing from Athlone since July 3.

Adrian Folans body was removed from the scene on Monday evening and brought to Limerick Regional Hospital where a post mortem was carried out.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in and around the quarry at Kilconnell, Liscannor, since July 3,  or to any member of the public, who may be able to assist with the investigation into the disappearance of Mr Folan from Athlone, to contact the Incident Room at Ennistymon Garda Station on 065-7072180, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
