The Banner Ladies’ Football Club annual dinner dance and medals presentation took place last Friday night at the Woodstock Hotel in Ennis. The event attracted the best attendance in several years.

Club chairperson Sonya Maher paid tribute to guest of honour Johnny Hayes, Clare Ladies Football County Board chairperson, who was inaugurated into the hall of fame at the Ladies’ Football All-Star banquet last November for his outstanding contribution to Clare, Munster and national ladies’ football over the last 30 years.
The board chairman presented medals to championship-winning teams at U-12, U-14 and minor grades. These teams were captained by Sarah McGuane, Karen Roche and Katie Cahill respectively.
The remarkable achievement of winning the All-Ireland Intermediate Sevens title under the stewardship of Louise Henchy was acknowledged and manager Kevin Green was presented with a commemorative photograph of the team. 2010 All-Star nominees Louise Henchy, Niamh Keane and Niamh O’Dea were also honoured for their dedication to the sport.
Ms Maher expressed her gratitude to all the players, mentors, volunteers and parents for their enthusiasm and commitment to the success of the club.
