Appeal for missing assistance dogs

An Autism assistance dog and a puppy in training are missing since Monday at 10pm from the Lisbealad/Kilronan area of Dunmanway in County Cork. The assistance dog is a Labrador and the puppy in training is a Golden Retriever. They are both wearing red collars with ID tags and are both microchipped.

“Indie has been with the Kingston family for four years and is for their son, James. Quinney is one of our puppies in training and is 18 months and is shortly due to start her official training.

“It is very important that these dogs are found and returned to their family. Indie is the assistance dog for James and he is devastated that she is missing and was out helping us to search for her yesterday,” said Nuala Geraghty, training services manager for Mallow- based Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland. “These dogs are a life line to the children and James and his family are lost without her.”
