(after extra time)

TULLA United A secured a place in the Clare area final of the FAI Junior Cup when they overcame Shannon Olympic A at the Cragg last week in a tie that needed extra time to produce a result.
Tulla took the lead with a Sunny Jay goal after just five minutes but Olympic hit back with goals from Donnacda Kelly and Joey O’Neill to take the lead at 2-1 at half-time.
Keith Lenihan levelled for the home side and then Shane Mason put them in front. However, Olympic weren’t finished and they levelled through substitute Ian Gallagher to send the tie to extra time.
The winning goal came in the second period of added time and was scored by Brian Hehir.

Mountshannon Celtic 2
Lifford 3

Lifford held on to their premier division status for next season when they managed to overcome the challenge of Mountshannon Celtic at the County Grounds last weekend.
Lifford came from behind twice before striking for the winner late in the game to come out on top.
John O’Brien gave Mountshannon the lead in the opening half before Ryan Boyle hit the leveller for Lifford early in the second period after good work by Fabrice Baptista.
Mountshannon went back in front when Arthur Burzynbski scored but back came Lifford again and Lunga Balman netted to level with just under 10 minutes remaining.
The hero for the Ennis side proved to be Fabrice Baptista, who struck for the winner shortly after this when he pounced after the East Clare side’s defence had failed to clear the danger.

Lifford: Liam Keane, Niall White, Stephen O’Halloran, Dylan Blake, Hamad Kuku, TJ Ajisomo, Ryan Boyle, Gary McNaboe, Lunga Balman, Roberto Pinto, Fabrice Baptista.
Sub: Darren O’Neill.

Sub: Stephen Malone.

Manus Celtic B 3
Manus Celtic A 0

UNLUCKY not to have beaten the club’s A team when the sides clashed in the Junior Cup earlier in the season, Manus Celtic B made no mistake this time when the sides met last Thursday at the County Grounds in a relegation/promotion play-off.
A 3-0 win means that the B team will be promoted to the second division, with the A team dropping down but whether this actually proves to be the case remains to be seen. It is expected that the positions of the two Manus Celtic teams will be discussed at an upcoming meeting of the Clare League.
Adam Healy from the penalty spot, David Casey and Michael McDonagh were the goalscorers in last Thursday’s game.

Manus Celtic B: Pakie Healy, Andrew Page, Barry Guinnane, Barry Malone, Ian Considine, Emmett Considine, Stephen Geraghty, Adam Healy, Michael McDonagh, David Casey, John Molloy.
Subs: Aaron Considine, Aidan McCarthy and David Considine.
Manus Celtic A: Brian Keogh, John Pyne, Ger Browne, Kevin Clohessy, Conor Donlon, Conor Plunkett, Seán Travers, Paddy Donlon, Tóla Crowe, Bernard Scanlan, Alan Considine.
