Waterpark House was the meeting point at 11am on Saturday, where a large number of volunteers were armed with gloves, bags and litter pickers set off to the various locations. This year, Lees Road, which has become a black spot for littering, was included.
The Ennis Lions Club cleaned the Kilrush Road, while a group from the Civil Defence tackled the Quin Road. The gardaí and staff from McDonalds cleaned the Tulla and Lahinch Roads. The residents of Woodhaven estate, after cleaning their own area, carried on and cleaned from the Kilrush Road roundabout all the way along the bypass to the Clarecastle roundabout.
Many other volunteers – together with staff members from Ennis Town Council and the business community – all contributed to a very successful spring clean.
