Gardaí seek help in tracing missing man

GARDAÍ in Ennistymon are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Michael Healy, 35 years, who was last seen in the Doolin area on Tuesday, April 28 Michael is described as being 5 foot 10 inches in height with a stocky build. He has brown hair, a beard and also wears glasses. When last seen, Michael was wearing a dark (charcoal colour) knee-length jacket, a white shirt with a red stripe, blue jeans and blue Asics runners with white soles. He was also carrying a black backpack. Michael’s family are very concerned for his welfare. Anyone with information on Michael’s whereabouts is asked to contact Ennistymon Garda station on 065 707 2180, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Missing person in Ennistymon area

Gardaí in Ennistymon are seeking assistance from the public in locating 29-year-old Zuhair Chowdhury, who was last seen in the North Clare area on Tuesday, December 17. Zuhair is described as being 5’8” in height, of slight build with dark hair and brown eyes. It is not known what Zuhair was last wearing. Anyone who may have seen Zuhair or has information on their whereabouts are asked to contact Ennistymon Garda Station at 065 707 2180, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Man’s body recovered

THE body of a man has been recovered from the Shannon Estuary. The body was found while a search was being carried out for a Sixmilebridge man on Friday morning. The search was launched when John O’Gorman, who was last seen on Wednesday evening, failed to return home. Two fishermen found the body about 8km south-west of Shannon Airport. The body was removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem.

Missing man located in Kilrush

KILRUSH Gardai have acknowledged support from members of the public for their assistance and help in searching for a missing pensioner late on Monday evening. Gardai said that the elderly man “has now been located safe and well.” “Particular thanks to Kilrush GAA, Kilrush Chamber of Commerce. Special mention of thanks to the staff of SuperValu, Kilrush for staying open and providing torches to searchers,” the Garda statement added. The search was led by Gardai, along with the Coast Guard and Cappa based RNLI. The man lives in the town and he was reported missing on Monday evening.

Inagh man missing

Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of James Shannon, aged 50, who is missing from his home in Inagh. James was last seen at approximately 1am on Saturday, August 26  in the Inagh area. He was wearing dark trousers and a dark top and walks with a distinctive limp. Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí at Kilrush on 065 7077002.

Search called off as body found in Salthill

Gardaí have confirmed the search for a Belfast man missing in North Clare since earlier in the week has been called off following the discovery of a body in Galway. The search for the 22-year-old man from Belfast, who has been missing since Monday afternoon, was stood down following the discovery of a body near Salthill in Galway on Wednesday evening. Drone technology had been deployed during the week in the search for the 22 year-old who was reported missing after he failed to return to his tour bus which had stopped at Ballyreen, on the Wild Atlantic Way, between Fanore and Lisdoonvarna, at the designated time of departure. Volunteers from the Doolin coastguard responded when the alarm was raised around 2.30pm and they conducted a sea search. Land based teams were also engaged in combing the cliff top and shoreline while the Shannon based search and rescue helicopter was also involved. The search was co-ordinated by the gardaí backed …

Aaron Lysaght found safe and well

    An Ennis man, who was reported missing for nine days, has been found safe and well on Saturday afternoon. The family of Aaron Lysaght (21)  had  issued an appeal for the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of their son who went missing from Prospect, Coolcullen, County Kilkenny. The last visual sighting of Aaron Lysaght (21) was on July 1 when he was visiting a friend in Midleton, County Cork. All other contact after this date was by phone or text message up until July 14 when he sent his father, Seán a text message via WhatsApp at 7.51 am. Gardaí were trying to establish whether Aaron remained in the Midleton area or whether he travelled back to Castlecomer where he was living with his girlfriend for about three months. Search resumes in Bunratty for missing man

Searches are to resume this morning for a man missing in the Bunratty area since Saturday. Gardaí have expressed concerned for the well being of the man in his late 50’s, originally from the Bunratty area but living in Sixmilebridge, who was last seen on Saturday. Volunteers from Bunratty Search and Rescue and locals mounted a search on Saturday evening and they were joined on Sunday morning by the Shannon based Irish Coast Guard helicopter. Volunteers walked the banks of the Ratty River as the operation focused on the river and surrounding waterways. The search also involved Gardaí, the Killaloe, Kilkee and Doolin units of the Irish Coast Guard, Clare Civil Defence and Kilrush RNLI. The Limerick Land Search Team have also been assisting in the search.
