Changes on senior and minor hurling teams

There are three changes in personnell on the Clare team to play Tipperary in the All-Ireland senior hurling quarter final at Pairc Ui Caoimh on Saturday from that which lost to Cork in the Provincial final two weeks ago As expected, injury has ruled full back David McInerney out of the team while both Oisin O’Brien and Aron Shanagher have been omitted from the side which started against Cork. In fact Shanagher has failed to find a place in the match day twenty six. Crusheen’s Cian Dillon returns to the starting line up and he has been named at corner back with team captain Pat O’Connor taking over at full back in place of the injured McInerney. Seadna Morey reverts from wing to corner back in place of Oisin O’Brien and Jamie Shanahan is named at wing back. Changes on both Clare hurling teams

The Clare teams to play Cork in Sunday’s Munster senior and minor finals against Cork show two changes from that which started their respective semi-finals against Limerick Oisin O’Brien returns to the senior team after injury and he comes in at wing back in place of Gearoid O’Connell who, surprisingly, has failed to find a place in the match day twenty six. The other change sees Cathal Malone named at midfield in place of David Reidy. the expectation is that Malone will be at wing forward with Tony Kelly moving out to partner Colm Galvin in the middle of the field.  It had been speculated that Peter Duggan or Niall Deasy would be called into the attack. Both are included amongst the substitutes as are veterans Brendan Bugler and Patrick Donnellan. Five changes to minor hurling team

The Clare minor team to fave Limerick in the Munster minor hurling semi-final this Wednesday evening shows five changes in personnell from that which comfortably overcame Waterford in the opening round at the beginning of April. Omitted are corner backs Cian McInerney and Conor Ferns, midfielder Cathal Darcy and forwards Gearoid Cahill and Conor Tierney. They are replaced by Sean Crowley, Bradley Higgins, Eoin Fitzpatrick, Riain Considine and Paul Corry. The game throws in a 7.30p.m and extra time will be played in the event of a draw. The winners will go through to the provincial final on Sunday week where they will play either Cork or Tipperary who play this Thursday evening in the second semi-final. Two changes on hurling team

  There are two changes in personnell on the Clare team to face Dublin in Sunday’s relegation play off from that which started against  Waterford last week. Brendan Bugler returns to the starting line up at wing back in place of Jason McCarthy while David Reidy returns to the team and he is named at corner forward in place of Ian Galvin. Clare make two changes for trip to Tipp

There are two changes in personnell to the Clare team for Sunday’s hurling league round three date with Tipperary in Thurles from that which started against Kilkenny in their last outing. Inagh-Kilnamona’s Patrick Kelly takes over in goals from Donal Tuohy while Cathal McInerney, following his impressive showing in the victory over Kilkenny when he was introduced, takes over at corner forward for the injured Shane O’Donnell. Tulla’s David McInerney, recently returned from overseas is named amongst the substitutes as is Ian Galvin, younger brother of Colm. Ian missed last season ‘s club and county action due to a cruciate knee injury. The Clare team to play Kilkenny in round 2 of the National Hurling League on Sunday shows three changes in personnell and some positional switches from the side which lost to Cork in last week’s opening round. Ballyea du0 Tony Kelly and Jack Browne are now available due to their club’s preparations for the upcoming All-Ireland final while Shane Golden has been omitted. Into the starting line up come Oisin O’Brien at corner back, David Fitzgerald at midfield and Aaron Cunningham at wing forward. David Reidy switches to midfield while John Conlon moves to full forward. Clare senior hurling joint managers Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor have made eight changes to the starting teamfor Sunday’s Munster senior league clash with Waterford at Dungarvan from the team which started against Limerick on Wednesday evening.
