German film to be shot in Kilkee

Production of a new TV film for one of Germany’s largest broadcasters, ARD, will commence in Kilkee next month. “Planlos in Ireland/Clueless in Ireland” is a joint production by H&V Entertainment GmbH and Treehouse Media Ltd. Kilkee was chosen for its stunning scenery and ease of access to Shannon Airport. The first day of principal photography is scheduled for July 22. The production has developed a HSE-compliant Covid-19 action plan and will be implementing stringent measures to assure the safety of the crew and the public at large. The production is working with stakeholders in the region to implement the Government of Ireland guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe return to work for the cast and crew, prioritising safety for the town of Kilkee. The main character in the movie, ‘Connie’, is in her mid-50s and has worked as an executive secretary in Germany for many years. Munster honours for Scariff C.C.

Scariff Community college 3-15 St.Augustine’s Dungarvan 3-6 A strong all round team performance helped Scariff Community college to the Munster colleges senior C hurling title at Mick Neville park in Rathkeale this Saturday afternoon. In a game in which they were never behind, the accounted for the defending champions St.Augustines from Dungarvan in front of a good attendance After the sides had exchanged points twice, the East Clare side opened a five point gap by the eighth minute, helped by the game’s opening goal which came from Mark Rodgers. Fergus Madden found the net at the start of the second quarter as the Sean McNamara managed Clare side went on to lead by six points, 2-8 to 1-5, at the interval. One million Germans to view Doolin

North Clare’s more picturesque spots will be seen by about a million people in a television documentary airing in Germany next month. A crew from ARD, a national German TV network, is in Ireland this week as guests of Tourism Ireland, filming for the documentary along the Wild Atlantic Way. The documentary will be called Weltreisen meaning World Travel. Footage captured in Clare includes the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher, as well as the Weltreisen crew enjoying a surfing demonstration in Doolin. The 45-minute programme will air in July. This year, Tourism Ireland is placing a major focus on the Wild Atlantic Way in its promotions around the world. The Wild Atlantic Way is being highlighted on television, in print, online and at international tourism fairs. “We are delighted that the crew from ARD agreed to create this documentary featuring Clare and the Wild Atlantic Way.
