Three sisters from Cree will come together on Friday for a special concert honouring their late father.

The three singers will perform a range of songs of different genres, with proceeds going to the RNLI lifeboats.
This reunion concert, sees the three well-known singers, Tina, Geraldine and Dana Mulrooney come together for the first time at the Auburn Lodge Hotel in Ennis this Friday.
The concert, which kicks off at 8.30pm, showcases the different styles of music that each of the sisters follow. Geraldine favours traditional singing, Dana is influenced more by country, while Tina enjoys the folk genre.
Speaking to The Clare Champion, Tina outlines the reasoning behind the event.
“This is the first time we have ever sung together in concert, even though we’ve all made our careers out of singing and hopefully, this will be the first of many times. My father passed away in 2004 and he never got to hear us sing together. He was actually the one who got us started in music and it was always his dream to hear us come together as a group. We’ve a really nice concert put together and we’re really looking forward to it”.
The three decided to donate the proceeds towards the RNLI organisation because of their tremendous work and the big role they play. Tina explains that she had previously released an album in conjunction with the RNLI and, from working at the Cliffs of Moher, is well aware of the great work this voluntary organisation do in terms of search and recovery operations.
“We got together with Joe Queally of the RNLI and asked him would he be interested and he was. The most important thing for us is to raise as much money for them because so much work goes on behind the scenes and nobody knows when they’re going to need them. I would ask everyone to come and give them a bit of support on the night,” she added.
The concert will include a mix of a number of songs that Tina, Geraldine and Dana have made their own, including Wonder child, In My Father’s House, The Old Man and The Town I loved so well.
In particular, Tina is looking forward to performing The Old Man.
“I’m doing that song myself and I’m dedicating it to my father, he was a big fan of Phil Coulter,” she said.
The trio had been thinking about performing this kind of a concert for the last six months and set a plan into action in the last four months, working around each other’s schedules to create a diverse and cohesive concert line-up.
The concert MC will be Brian Flynn of Clare FM and special guest performances will be brought by Jimmy Clancy, PJ Murrihy and Pete Treighton on the night.
Tickets can be purchased at the door and will also be available from the Auburn Lodge Hotel, the Record Rack and other local outlets.
