GIFTED Clare drama student Laura Bugler joined fellow graduates of the Leinster School of Music and Drama in a performance at the Griffith College Creative Week closing ceremony recently.

As part of the celebrations this year, Leinster School of Music and Drama graduates gave a special recital in the Griffith College concert hall. A host of talented students, including international students from India and Brazil, performed an assortment of classics and modern music and drama.

Laura Bugler from Newmarket-on-Fergus was one of the performers on the night. Graduating this year with a Higher Diploma in Arts in Drama Education, Laura attended speech and drama lessons with Lourdes O’Donohue in Ennis, and completed her LSMD grade exams with her.

“The simple Alfred Hitchcock quote, ‘Drama is like life with the dull bits cut out’ perfectly sums up what draws me into the world of drama. It acts as an escape and provides a safe environment for us to explore our thoughts, feelings and ideas,” Laura said.

Karen Casey, head of the Leinster School of Music and Drama, remarked, “Laura is a truly gifted actress and gave a stunning performance at the recital. I would like to congratulate Laura on her qualification and wish her every success as she moves into the world of music and drama education.”
