THE Glór Theatre in Ennis will rock to the music of Michael Jackson on Tuesday, November 24, in a special fundraising tribute concert.
Five decades of the life and music of the King of Pop will be unfolded during what promises to be a wonderful show performed by the Arch Club in Ennis, Funk Fusion Stage School members from different parts of Munster and the Ennis Gospel Choir.
Directing operations for the two-hour show is Marcella O’Sullivan, who runs the Funk Fusion Stage School. A native of Cork and living in Ennis, she explained that for the Ennis tribute concert, three groups – adults and children from different walks of life – are coming together to dance and sing in their tribute to Michael Jackson, who died in June.
Rehearsals have been taking place each Saturday since the  beginning of September at Cois na hAbhna and the end product promises to be an enjoyable and colourful show.
Thirteen-year-old Mickey O’Donnell from Mitchelstown plays the young Michael Jackson, Gráinne O’Connor from Bruff will play the older Michael Jackson and the dancing routine of the young Michael Jackson will be performed by Nathan Mangan from Ennis.
It will be a special occasion for members of the Arch Club, Ennis. The club is one of 50 clubs nationwide providing social activities for people with special needs. It is open to all and meets for music and dance every Saturday night in St Anthony’s Hall, adjacent to Ennis Franciscan Friary.
The Ennis committee would welcome new members and contact can be made through Tom Kirrane at 065 6822390 or 086 2934364.
The concert starts at 7.30 and all proceeds will go to the Share A Dream Foundation, Arch Clubs and The Hope Project in Cork.
