Éire Óg U-14Bs retain title

ÉIRE Óg claimed back-to-back U-14B titles on Friday when they defeated Kilkishen by two points at Clooney. The Ennis side registered several wides before an Orla Devitt free got them off the mark.

Two more points from Orla and one each from Karen Roche and Gráinne Nolan appeared to put Éire Óg in the driving seat. However, Kilkishen came back with a well-taken goal which reduced the deficit to two points and a second goal on the stroke of half-time saw them go to the break with a one-point lead. 2-0 to 0-5.
Early in an exciting and entertaining second half, Orla Devitt’s pointed 45’ drew the sides level. Both sides worked tirelessly and play moved from end to end but in the end, another pointed free by Orla Devitt and a point from play saw the Paddy Loughnane Cup return to Clonroadmore.
