Clare title for Kilrush

Kilrush Community school captured the Clare ladies’ junior C title at Cooraclare last week, when they accounted for their neighbours, Kilkee Community College.
At the end of an evenly contested first quarter, the sides were level, with just a point each on the scoreboard.
Kilrush then hit a purple patch and scored three goals in as many minutes through Nicole Lernihan, Áine Browne and Marie Murphy and this left the half-time score at 3-1 to 0-2.
Kilkee had a good start to the second half and they had a goal from the penalty spot. Kilrush regained the upperhand with the help of a goal from Aoife O’Gorman and they went on to add points from Siobhán Behan and another goal from Marian Murphy before Jenny Ryan pointed three times to seal victory.
After the game, the trophy was presented to the winning captain, Siobhán Behan, by Terry Meaney. The winning team was managed by Orla Kilkenny, Ger Mescall and Martin Keogh.
